The airport received a $3.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation back in September, and recently contracted Mountain Enterprises to perform the work. The goal of the construction project is to move the taxiway that runs parallel to the landing strip 40' to the south. The moving of the runway is being done in order to accommodate larger airplanes for landing and take off.
