Now reaching into its third generation of family ownership, Johnny on the Spot (JOTS) rents more than just its portable toilets and has spawned several other "spin off" companies.
In 1999 Robert R. Slagel and his father John E. Slagel founded Storage on the Spot (SOTS), Inc.; SOTS was established to meet the new needs of the customers. SOTS provides portable 16-gauge corrugated steel storage containers for construction, commercial, residential, and industrial settings. By providing a lockable storage container for its customers (SOTS) has helped save millions of dollars worth of losses from theft and worksite vandalism. SOTS also offers stackable container modifications such as twenty and forty foot office/break-rooms that come fully insulated with HVACs, electrical outlets, and over-head lighting.
Today the grandsons, Robert R. Slagel and David J. Slagel, are the owners and operators of JOTS, SOTS, Dropbox, Inc., a custom container modification company and Modular Security Systems, Inc., the provider of the patented Modular Access Control security portal.
